The Cape Elizabeth Fire-Rescue Department is starting the new year with new ambulance.
Thanks to the support of our community, the Town Council, and town staff, the department took delivery of a 2019 Ford E-450 Super Duty, Type III Ambulance. Replacing our fourteen year old vehicle, its presence is welcomed by the inclusion of the latest and greatest technology from the industry. Additional features such as a self loading power stretcher will assist in the reduction of provider fatigue and potential injuries associated with patient transports.
With the delivery of this new rig, both of our ambulances now have matching paint colors and decals. Its purchase is part of the town’s robust capital improvement plan which forecasts replacements and major repairs throughout the life of each fleet vehicle. It was officially placed into service on December 14th, 2018.
