The Town of Cape Elizabeth is recommending that our townspeople do not trick or treat this evening due to safety concerns. It is recommended that those wishing to take part in Halloween activities, do so on SATURDAY evening, Nov. 4 instead.
The Cape Elizabeth Fire-Rescue Department agrees with this assessment for numerous reasons, to include the widespread power outage being experienced throughout the entire community. In many places, trees and power lines are still down across roadways/sidewalks. Such hazards are dangerous during the daylight hours and even more so after nightfall. Please continue to use caution if you must be out and stay safe.
