INCIDENT REPORT: 2 Algonquin Road

At approximately ‪1453‬ hours on November 26th, the Cape Elizabeth Fire/Rescue Department was dispatched to ‪2 Algonquin Road‬ for the report of a fire within a bedroom of a single family residential structure.

Upon arrival, the firefighters of Engine 62 reported a working fire with smoke showing from the structure and immediately requested an assignment upgrade to the all-hands for additional resources. Chief Gleeson (Car 601) arrived on scene shortly thereafter, assumed command, and redirected station coverage resources to respond direct to the scene.

With multiple handlines in operation, firefighters successfully contained the spread of fire, which ultimately made it to the roof support structure. The cause of the fire is considered undetermined at this time. There were no reported injuries to emergency service personnel or the public as a result of this incident.
