At approximately 02:49am, the Cape Elizabeth Fire/Rescue Department was called to 51 Ocean House Road for the report of a fire in a residence. Upon arrival, crews were faced with heavy fire showing from the rear of the structure, which was rapidly spreading. Additional crews were subsequently requested from the South Portland Fire Department, Scarborough Fire Department, and the Portland Fire Departments in order to assist with extinguishment of the blaze.
The structure was determined to be unoccupied at the time of incident and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
